EXPLOITATION.

In the ‘developed’ world, we tut-tut about the destruction of virgin lands elsewhere.
BUT - in truth, everything about the landscape where I live has been shaped by generations, doing exactly what those in the Amazon are doing today.
Forests cleared for farming or to fuel the industrial revolution. Land ravaged by animals for centuries leaving ‘green deserts’ with the poorest ecology.
These field boundaries have probably looked like this for many hundreds of years.
